Investigation on 2/27/2016 - Whitney Murdock Mansion and Morse House - Winchendon, MA
I had the opportunity to join author and paranormal investigator Joni Mayhan and her friends on an 8-hour investigation of both the Whitney Murdock Mansion (which houses the Historical Society) and the newly acquired house across the street, the Morse house. There were 25 of us all told. We arrived at 5:30 and could explore the WM Mansion to our hearts' content until dinnertime, then after dinner we split into 4 groups and off we went. As evenings go, it was fairly quiet but a lot of impressions came flooding in and there was one room in which you could not really breathe once you got halfway into it (the upstairs tower room, on the right in the picture above). Otherwise I had a blast meeting all sorts of new people and spirits. We did a lot of ghost box sessions, so I've included those here too (and labeled them GBS). I started in the WM Mansion then my group went over to the Morse house, to return to the WM Mansion afterwards. I have only gone through 3 of 7 recordings from that night, so more will be added as I get to them!
I said the WM Mansion was lovely. One of the women who used to live there said "Thanks". (EVP)
The newel post at the bottom of the stairs in the WM Mansion has a bronze statue of Julius Caesar on it. This spirit verified that, indeed, "it is". (EVP)
In the Morse house we were asking the former lady of the house what color her favorite dress was. It appears it was "blue". (EVP)
Here it is amplified. (EVP - the sound in the background is a truck on the road)
Who comes here? (EVP)
Also in the Morse house, we learned someone had ended his life there in the earl 1990's. We were trying to get him to talk with us. I caught the sound of glass breaking and a yell or scream. (GBS)
"Did I punch him?" (GBS)
We were trying to figure out the name of a small piano that starts with an "M" and a spirit told us we had the wrong name. "No it's not" (GBS)
The downstairs front rooms had been used as a gift shop for years. We had the impressions of Christmas trees, so we asked ion which room the Christmas tree stood. The answer was "over there" (GBS). Wait until the end of the recording for his answer.
We asked who the spirit's favorite author was. The woman answered "Mayham". (GBS)
I mentioned that the Morse house was very light. The spirit answered "The light" (GBS)
It seems the young man's favorite food was, of all things, pizza! (GBS)
We got several names: "Sabrina" "It's me, Isabella"
At some point while we were upstairs we seemed to be upsetting a male spirit. He came through and told us we were disrupting.
