Haunt ME Event, Rumford GRCC and Portland Irish Heritage Center, April 27-30 2018
I had the wonderful opportunity to attend and participate in a four-day event hosted by Haunt ME (based in Portland ME) and the Newkirks of the Traveling Museum of the Occult and the Paranormal. On April 27th we spent an evening investigating the GRCC in Rumford, which was quite interesting and very active. It was a small group of museum members only of about 30 people (42 including the hosts) and so we were able to split into three groups of 10 and investigate thoroughly. For me, the basement yielded the most EVP (and the highest creep factor, besides the ladies' rest room). We did several Ghost Box sessions using the Estes Method, which I am dying to try some day. Those all resulted in amplified communication between ourselves and the spirits.
On to the EVP!
On to the EVP!
Gymansium, third floor
During our walkthrough prior to the investigation I spotted a full-body apparition of a man on the upper level, with his hands on the railing, leaning over and looking down at us. It was still light in the room. He consisted of a dark smokelike material and I could make out his solid silhouette but no specific details. He seemed curious. During the investigation we heard knocking and had small green balls of light appearing and disappearing in the room. As we sat there we heard a knuckly knocking, which turned out to be a noise that was generated in the trampoline room down the hall but seemed to reverberate around the gym.
Lisa said she was OK with spirits touching her, but not her support dog. A woman answered with "OK".
After that I caught the sound of a woman whispering "yes"
We walked down the hall to the ballet room, where we did an EVP session with Ty. We all heard a strange gasp and knocking. Here is the gasp (we debunked the possibility of Harvey the Support Dog making this noise):
As we passed the showers I heard something hissing at me.
Basement.... where the Crab Man or Crawling Thing lurks
Next up was the dark, creepy basement. We sat in chairs and had all sorts of things going on: Dawn set up her laser grid and we could all see multiple people in the corner walking around where no one was. I got touched on the side of my face and my head when Greg invited whatever it was to come touch us. I heard footsteps crunching up to us on the concrete floor. The EVP sessions down there were unreal, where we focused with intention on the Crawling Man and got direct responses from it.
One EVP I got that was out of nowhere was "The boy":

We all heard this voice come out of thin air:
Tyler Strand took three other people back to the section of the basement where it seems the Crawling Man lives. While he was gone I got this EVP saying "Tyler is sleep", followed by footsteps walking up to us:
Lisa had her service dog Harvey on her lap and when Greg invited the spirits to touch us again, this is the response Lisa got:
We also got told to "be quiet":
A male voice says "It's me" at the end of this one:
This was while we saw the spirits in the corner in the green grid. "Was I receiving it?"
Irish Heritage Center, April 28th
I got one single EVP here; there was so much going on I didn't get anything except this one on the recordings. We were trying to get Billy to talk to us using the Estes method but something wasn't wanting him to talk with us:
"No".
"No".
Evergreen Cemetery
On Monday morning I left the hotel and headed out to see Evergreen Cemetery. It is a large, mid 19th century cemetery and I started recording, only to stop because a couple came up behind me and the man was scream-laughing at the woman he was walking with. I decided to start recording again and mentioned that it was going to be a long day if I let every noise around me get to me. When I mentioned that the cemetery is a place for the living AND the dead, I got the overwhelming response of "YES" in this huge voice composed of many hundreds of voices. It has that quality of a crowd cheering in a football stadium,
I am fascinated with old names. I read out one of them and some spirit around there was making some sort of ruckus about General Shay.
Here is the answer alone amped up by 7 decibels. It sounds like "General Shay Shay Shaaaaayyyyyyy" or something similar.
"Helloooooo" plus the clopping of horses' hooves.
Um...there were no horses in the cemetery. I was all alone in that section.

"Whatcha lookin' at". This one is a really faint whisper. It is at the very end of the recording and is a man's whisper.
This one is also hard to hear without earphones on. The clicking is my camera. She is saying "Hello. Speak with me. Speak with me".
At the twins' grave, Frank and Albert. "Momma" or "Manny".
